First Graders Just Love Ice Cream!

A Celebration of Ice Cream!

 

This week in Fun Friday first graders used their imaginations and taste buds as they explored ice cream.  They tasted three ice cream flavors (raspberry, chocolate and vanilla), voted on their favorite flavor and participated in creating a huge ice cream graph.  Then they used their imagination to create their own ice cream flavor.  There were smiles and laughter in both first grade rooms as we enjoyed ice cream together.

It's a Brand New Year!

It's a Brand New Year!

     Wow! The first few weeks of school have gone fast.  It's been so busy that I'm just now able to catch up with my blog.  Here are a few pictures showing some of the "beginning of the year" things we've been doing in first grade.

     We have been learning about metamorphosis; the magical change when caterpillars turn into butterflies.  We released two butterflies this week.  It was so exciting to watch them fly away.  They were so ready to go, we were not able to take pictures fast enough!
